Changing the date of the HSC trials for students in NSW
Sitting down and looking at a computer screen all day can be extremely exhausting and can cause the deterioration of mental health of teens all over NSW. You can imagine how hard it must be for everyone working from m home and doing online school, but the main issue with online school is the mental health of Year 12 students who are currently studying and working at home with no face-to-face support from teachers or friends. The lack of face-to-face contact can isolate these students and make them feel unsupported and lonely during this process. These circumstances also can lead to a lack of motivation making Year 12 students push themselves beyond limits that will affect them long-term and affect the way they complete their exams. Also, being on screens and have a wider range of access to social media can create immense stress and anxiety for everyone all over NSW during this lockdown. Imagine this but worse, this is how current Year 12 students are feeling. All the anxieties of the media plus the stress of studying for largest exams of your schooling career. These students have to work much harder than any other students in NSW and yet are still being pushed to complete trials and the HSC in upcoming weeks and months.
I am proposing an extension on the date's of the trials for the HSC. Would this not only help the mental health of many Year 12 students across NSW, it would also help improve the overall test scores amongst the state. This lockdown will have dramatic affect on the standard at which students are completing the tests as they are testing their mental health with the stress and anxieties of the lockdown plus their exams. Please sign this petition and help all the struggling Year 12 students across Australia with their stress and anxieties.
