Bring WRC Rally Australia Back To The Tweed Coast

Bring WRC Rally Australia Back To The Tweed Coast
In 2009 The Largest Rally Championship in the world, the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) returned after a several year absence to Australia although this time on the Tweed Coast of New South Wales. Despite 90% of Tweed and Kyogle residents supporting the championships arrival on the coast which is heavily reliant on tourism the event was marred by protestors against the event. This meant the spectacular racing which brought over 20,000 tourists to the area and millions of dollars was overshadowed by the high police presence and angry protesters. However this can be avoided with our proposal of greater engagement with concerned locals to put their fears to rest of any environmental issues which they were concerned about. We hope to bring the WRC back to Tweed after the Covid situation has subsided worldwide. This will be a great tourism recovery for the region who relies on tourism as the main form of income (which has been disrupted by Covid). Of course to avoid protestors it is important that greater planning goes into this championship round to ensure all residents are happy.
