Make men and women who flee DOMESTIC VIOLENCE with children eligible for income support

The government have a zero policy regarding domestic violence and says that the victim should break away from that situation, flee to another county and prosecute their spouse and even threaten to take children into care. However, when they do the government forces them on to Job Seekers Allowance compelling single men and women to find work when they have children of infant and primary school age. And stopping their money if they can't meet the JSA requirements. It is impossible to find work when you flee domestic violence as your children are not attending a school. JSA rules are impossible to live by when you have dependent children out of school, as you can not take them to work fair and must be available to work on the day. This leaves families surviving on food bank hand outs. Is it any wonder that these men and women return or remain in violent relationships. The government need to stop treating these vulnerable men and women in this way. Let them remain on Income Support until they are in a position to work full time. Help now before more parents and children suffer poverty or remain in violent relationships
