Give the DU Sustainability Marketplace a Visible Location in the Community Commons

Give the DU Sustainability Marketplace a Visible Location in the Community Commons
Why this petition matters
The Sustainability Marketplace offers valuable resources to the students, faculty, and staff at DU. Within the Marketplace, there are five markets: the DU Food Pantry, the Thrift Store, the Gear Garage, the Used Bookstore, and Crimson Compost. Currently, the Marketplace is located in Centennial Towers, which is isolated from the rest of campus. The Marketplace is being forced to move to a new location. The top proposed location is in a back office in Centennial Halls, which is half the size and even more isolated than the current location.
The creators of this petition believe that the Marketplace offers necessary resources for socioeconomically disadvantaged members of our campus community.
The Marketplace deserves to be valued and accessible. The only way that this is possible is for the Marketplace to be centrally located at the Community Commons.
It is a facade for DU to claim that sustainability is a core value, while not actively pursuing social and economic sustainability. Signing this petition signals to the DU Administration that the student body cares about each other and wants to see the Marketplace live up to its full radical potential.
