Every year, Muslims celebrate Eid-Al-Fitr after a month of fasting. They gather with friends and family to celebrate this holiday which marks the end of Ramadan. Adults take the day off from work. Students, however, have to make up all their work after they get to school the next day. There shouldn’t be school on Eid. Students should be able to enjoy themselves while not worrying if they are missing out on fun activities or the extra work they have to do. Think about it. If students can get days off for all the other holidays throughout the year, why not one day for Eid? Schools should be inclusive to ALL faiths. Many schools have recognized Eid and given students a day off. Sign this petition to show your support to help us get a day off for Eid!
