Since retuning from the 6 weeks holiday Astrea Academy Dearne has become more of a boot camp and less like a school, our children are been subjected to humiliation, hypocrisy and abuse. They are made to sit or stand with arms in the air until everyone is quiet, they are forcesd to take part in lessons or they will receive negative marks even though some don't participate because they are anxious about getting the answer wrong, shy or find it difficult to speak out in front of people. As well as parents school is supposed to teach our kids that everyone is equal and that every day is a new day and a fresh start yet school is far form equality and some punishments for students last longer than that day. It is our job to safe gaurd our children and schools job to do so in school hours however this is not the case allowing a school to give detentions leaving children to walk home alone on days which are becoming darker or without a mobile phone because they think it is acceptable to take them from them for 48 hours is  far from acceptable or safe. They are not considering our children feelings or mental health in all of these it is not them sat worrying about our children all day.

Dearne ALC need to ammend their policies to more appropriate ones that are not setting pupils up to fail or humiliating and abusing them we entrust the people with our children,im willing to do whatever it takes to try to achieve this and make our children's learning experience less stressful. I hope many other parents and cares will do join me in this and help make the our children learning experience one they can enjoy instead of fear
