It is the just thing to do. If the system is actually about rehabilitation, cutting a peraon off from their community us counter productive, not to mention cruel

This is disgusting, my child is in Niagara Detention Centre, under a 14 day quarantine, I cannot communicate with him. He cannot communicate with me because the system does not allow collect calls to cell phone or VoIP numbers. He has severe mental health and addiction issues. Now he is completely cut off from his family and support system. Yes I wrote him a letter however I do not have the financial means to purchase a phone plan with a 3rd party provider that will allow my son to contact me. Ontario please change providers now!!! My son's life depends on it, My mental health depends on it as well.

While it's not surprising that the company who uses mental health issues to sell products and services, chooses to profit off of people in vulnerable situations, it is something the government has to put a stop to, Bell Media won't do the right thing, We know this of them.

This is human rights abuse. Without the support of friends and family this can result in disconnection, mental health challenges, and suicide. Not allowing phone calls also creates barriers for community reintegration upon release.
