PETITION OBJECTIVE: We implore the Randolph co. NC District Attorney's Office and presiding Judge to punish Justin Edward Ackerman to the fullest extent of the law, for the current charges of Felony Crimes Against Nature and Felony Cruelty To Animals. Charges for such a heinous crime should not be reduced to misdemeanors for any reason. We also request that Mr. Ackerman never be allowed to own or care for animals again in our state and that he be required to register as a sex offender.

The very low bond of $5000.00 allowed this criminal to walk the streets quickly.

Animal rape and sodomy (know as Beastiality) should be taken more seriously by every county in the U.S. These types of people are sexual predators, that seek out voiceless victims. Who's to say they have not or would not rape a child. They often use a mental defect/instability defense in court, yet most are perfectly capable of functioning in our society. It's time for the courts to stop taking this offense so lightly. Anyone committing this horrific crime is a danger to the public. They should be charged and punished for felony rape not felony animal cruelty/crimes against nature, which rarely receives jail time. Until that day comes, the very least our courts can do is give the maximum punishment for charges received on cases such as this.
