We all know #Disney was quick to turn their backs on #JohnnyDepp when it came to domestic violence allegations against him and that they shunned him away in a recast for his role as #CaptainJackSparrow. We also know, that while Disney may have created the idea of this character, it was Johnny that brought him to life. It was Johnny that made the captain who and what he is today. In any case, a person is to be innocent until proven guilty. As far as Disney was concerned, Johnny was guilty without ever being given the chance to prove his innocence, something that we all saw really actually hurt Johnny- for more reasons than one. They took a piece of him away. They took a piece of all of us away. Without ever giving any regard to how any of us felt or if any of the reasoning behind it was true. They were wrong. On so many levels. They hurt him to the point that he doesn’t even want to work with them no matter how much they offer him. Johnny had plans for this character. HIS character. Money has never been the object of Johnny’s attention. His intentions are pure. He did wonderful real life things with the captains character. Now, it’s time for Disney to bow out gracefully and give Johnny full rights to the character that HE MADE. The character that HE BRINGS TO LIFE. The character that HE TAKES TO VISIT SICK CHILDREN. The character that made THEM millions. Disney, you owe it to Johnny. You owe it us. You owe it to the Captain.
