Limit personal use of Independence Day fireworks to only July 4.

It's time to bring common sense back to Indiana. The personal use of noise-making, aerial, and exploding fireworks has taken its toll on our communities. For our pets, our combat vets, our neighbors with special needs, and our own desire to sleep, it's time to limit the personal use of these disruptive fireworks to just July 4, not an entire 11 days surrounding the holiday. Indiana laws have limited our abilities to make ANY changes at the local level with city ordinances about fireworks, so it's time to take this fight all the way up to the state level. In speaking with our city council members and the staff at our state representative's office, we are not alone! This is such a common complaint! So, keep telling our state officials to stop ignoring us, really listen to our needs, and make a change.
