Give City of London workers a fair pay rise

Give City of London workers a fair pay rise
Why this petition matters
Staff working for the City of London Corporation have been offered a 3% pay rise when inflation is at a 40 year high. Staff who were surveyed disclosed they are regularly using food banks, borrowing money from relatives, and taking second jobs.
These workers are employed at cemeteries, schools, markets, courts, tourist attractions, parks, arts venues. They include cleaners, security guards, social workers, catering staff, school support staff, park attendants amongst many others. These staff keep the services going and the venues open. They worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic and as a reward their pay was frozen last year.
By contrast the City of London Corporation is one of the wealthiest organisations/local authorities in the country. The square mile being one of the wealthiest square miles in the world. The Corporation has billions of pounds worth of assets and hosts lavish banquets while staff use food banks.
The Corporation could afford to fund a decent pay rise so staff can afford to eat and pay their bills. They choose not to.
