Give Antrim Camogie team a civic reception
Why this petition matters

The decision by the current DUP Mayor of the Causeway Coast and Glens, Ivor Wallace, to refuse the Antrim Junior Camogie team a civic reception after winning the All-Ireland should be reconsidered immediately. This is the third refusal to grant a Civic Reception to a successful GAA team connected to the Council area, after refusals to grant a reception for Eoghan Rua Camogie club on winning the Intermediate All-Ireland and Derry Senior Footballers on winning the Ulster title. As tax payers within the council, we are entitled to equality - nothing more and nothing less. The games we promote at a voluntary level not only inspire physical well-being, but address the much need deficit in improving the mental health of our youth. Imagine the young teenage camogie player who aspires to represent their county some day realising that those in power will not acknowledge her efforts and achievements because they consider her to be 'one of them'. This is not acceptable and should be called out again and again.
