Girl Scout camps have been a fundamental part of Girl Scouting since the organization was founded one hundred years ago. Millions of girls and women have benefitted from the close association with nature, the comraderie of girls, and the strong values of Girl Scouting. Without a Girl Scout camp, the Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois will never have the joy of those experiences that only GIRL SCOUT camp can offer.

Letter to
Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois
Do not sell all of the Girl Scout camps in Eastern Iowa! While not all Girl Scouts go to camp, camps are fundamental to the Girl Scout mission and need to be available to girls now and in the future. We know that a solution to the issues that have prompted the move to sell the camps can be found if you will only turn to your best resource--the creativity of the girls and women in this council. They need a camp and will work to find a way to keep one if you will only let them. Do not make the irrevocable mistake of selling all the Girl Scout camps in eastern Iowa! You will have done irreparable harm to the Girl Scout program and the girls of Girl Scouting, now and in the future.
