In accordance with Article VI, Section 2A, current Delegates of the Girl Scouts of Missouri Heartland Council (GSMH) request a special meeting of the board of directors to be held Saturday, November 17, 2018.  A central meeting place must be provided for those wishing to meet in person, and also provisions made in at least three outlying regions; one northern, one eastern, and one western, for those desiring to attend per video or audio conference.

Current GSMH delegates, please sign this petition to request the special meeting. Those who sign will be engaged in creating the meeting agenda and format. Only current GSMH delegates should sign this petition, and should include their Service Unit number and County represented.

Per this article, 10% of the voting membership, which can range from 200 to 300 delegates, can request a special meeting. Per Article III, Section 3B, that would consist of a maximum of 30 voting delegates. Current voting delegates are those who were selected in spring 2018, and represented Service Units at the Annual Meeting of the corporation in March 2018. Their terms expire when the next delegates are appointed in March 2019.

Delegates are calling this special meeting in accordance with the above stated Article to require of the Board an open forum for the discussion of the proposed sale of GMSH program centers. Per Article VI, Section 1C3, one purpose of the annual meeting is to provide input on key issues affecting the Council. Sale of program centers (camps) is one such key issue affecting our girls, and members have never been given an opportunity to provide input, and the issue was not addressed at the 2018 annual meeting. Article VIII, Section 5B also states the Board is accountable to Council membership, allowing members, including girls, to have a voice in key issues. We strongly feel these bylaws have been violated.
