Older women with Asperger/Autism left out in the cold!

Can you accept your mum, grandma, auntie dying before everyone else because they've been let down by those who are meant to look after them?
Why is there stigma attached to a neurological disability?
I am one of those women in the midst of an assessment so I can find answers to why I'm so ill. Families disown you because you're, ODD! They can't mould you into their mould or put you in their frame of reference.
The only difference is our brain's internal model. That's it! But the stress, misunderstandings, lack of recognition for our differences is overwhelming. The Asperger/Autism owner of an invisible disability can lead to: digestive disorders and other stress related conditions. They can be life threatening.
It's frightening. It's upsetting too to think women of a certain age have struggled through life subject to: manipulation, exploitation, failed relationships, work and socialising. They are likely to fall into depression and suicide attempts.
We realise too late what we've been subject too. We find out about health conditions too late. Square Circle Theatre CIC will spend the next five years supporting these women. It's a life changing experience for me and it's true, our lives can be shortened. Mine has.
