Russell Frank Ebert OAM is a retired player and coach of the Port Adelaide Football Club, and arguably the greatest SANFL player of all time. During his illustrious 435-game career, Ebert won three flags as captain, four Magarey medals, awarded to the best and most fair player in the SANFL as well as six club best and fairests. He captained port adelaide from 1974-78 and again from 1983-85. He represented South Australia for 29 games, 3 as captain. He played a season for North Melbourne, and holds the record for most games in a single season career. He would go on to coach Port Adelaide in 118 games, with a 55% win rate. He is a life member with both Port Adelaide and the SANFL, and is in the SANFL and AFL halls of fame
