Jeffrey Henrichsen started this petition to Gilbert Public Schools Governance Board and

The Gilbert Public Schools Board of Governance is pushing for Hybrid learning for our students and staff.  They are failing to accept or acknowledge that our schools are not super spreaders.  The evidence shows only 0.10% of our students and staff have confirmed covid cases as of 12/1/2020 on the Gilbert Public Schools Covid Dashboard.

They are choosing to listen to a small majority of the parents, outsiders, and other information rather than listening to the opinions of the parents of these amazing students, the staff members, and the taxpayers of this community that represent the majority.

For those who don't want to stay in-person, the option is there to move to Virtual Learning.

For those who want to stay in-person, moving to Hybrid removes our options and mutes our voices.

Our students are not learning efficiently or effectively when they are not in school.  We are not certified teachers at home; we are working adults who have an 8 to 5 job, some version of that, and can't give our students the help they need during their normal school day.  Teachers can do that.

Our students are safer in schools than being virtual or hybrid.  Working parents will be forced to send students to crowded centers for school assistance, daycares, childcare, and more while they continue to make a living.  This will then result in the community spread to our students who were safe in school before moving to hybrid.

Speak loud, Speak proudly.  We support our teachers. We support our school.  Most of all, we support our students and their right to learn in-person, in a school building that the taxpayers paid for.

Make your voice heard.  Sign now.  Tell Dr. Shane McCord and the Board of Governance how you really feel.
