Like many others in our school community, we feel that the quality of the food in our school lunch isn’t satisfying or appetizing to students. We feel that GHS school lunch lacks variety as well as nutritional value. We are looking to improve our current school lunch in hopes of making it more appealing to students. When the lunches aren’t appetizing to students, they often throw them away. This means that kids are not only starving during the day, but food is largely being wasted.

We plan to address this issue by creating/bringing back a “make your own wrap” food bar where students can choose what is in their wraps. With a select menu, individuals get tired of eating the same options every day. However, with a make your own wrap bar, students have the ability to choose their own fresh vegetables, condiments, and a variety of meats to satisfy their needs on a nutritional level. We ask that the cafeteria staff listen to and recognize these issues that are prevalent in our school lunch. We also ask that they consider creating this option for students in order to make a much-needed change.
