The Musi river is an integral part of Hyderabad and it has become a dump which has destroyed the wildlife and the beauty of the river. The river is a sea of sewage. This pollution is a direct result of the booming population and the waste water from the surrounding colonies being dumped in the river.

A team of researchers from Osmania University’s Centre Of Exploration Geophysics said that the water from the river is also unfit for irrigation. The researchers tested the groundwater samples in the 60 km stretch of the river from Peerzadiguda on the city outskirts to Valigonda, and found that till a depth of 40 metres the Dissolved Oxygen and Biochemical Oxygen Demand were way beyond the safe amount of chemicals.

As a citizen from Hyderabad, I feel it is my responsibility to help in making the Musi river clean again. the goal of this petition is to put more pressure on the government to make the river sustainable and clean.
