In Andhra Pradesh, Ground Water Resources are depleting rapidly.

If you take hyderabad into Consideration, Areas like Ameerpet, Begumpet, S.R.Nagar,  B.Hills, J. Bills, Panjagutta etc. The ground water is depleting very rapidly. Now they are depending on Krishna water for household also.

According to G.O.Ms.No.350 M.A. dt 9.6.2000: every house should have Water Harvesting Pits. Even to get Municipal Permission For houses, they should be water harvesting pits in home. But while taking permission they are showing that in Plan, but they are not implementing.

That's why we have to force GHMC, HMDA,MA & UD, etc to Implement this G.O.Ms.No.350 M.A. dt 9.6.2000 Effectively.

As per G.O.Ms.No.350 M.A. dt 9.6.2000:

1.      The Competent Authorities i.e., Director of Town and Country  Planning, Vice Chairman of Urban Development Authorities, Commissioners of Municipal Corporations/Municipalities shall insist for facilities and infrastructure for conservation and harvesting rain water in all layouts and sub division for sanctioning the same.

2.      Every building proposed for constructing plots having extent of 300 Sq. Mtrs. and above shall be provided with required facilities and  infrastructure for conservation and harvesting of rain water viz. Part- A is compulsory and part-B & C or D is optional.

3.      All existing buildings in Municipalities / Municipal Corporations shall construct rainwater harvesting the structure within a period of one year from the issue of this G.O.

In Andhra Pradesh, Ground Water Resources are Depleting Rapidly.

If you take hyderabad into Consideration, Areas like Ameerpet, Begumpet,S.R.Nagar, B.Hills, J. Bills, Panjagutta etc. The ground water is depleting very rapidly, Now they are Depending on Krishna Water for Household also.

Now If we don't Construct Pits to Recharge ground water, then we have to face water Crises in Hyderabad.

Nature replenishes the Groundwater Resource annually through seasonal rainfall, by way of infiltration through soil layers. Due to urbanization, the soil surface exposed to the recharge gets drastically reduced and therefore natural recharge gets diminished Groundwater resources have already been extensively developed and therefore any further indiscriminate development should not take place. Ground water resource as a natural resource potential, a hydraulic equilibrium must be made between the availability and utilization. Measures dovetailing rain water harvesting and artificial recharge will augment the groundwater resource.

Part-A is compulsory and part-B & C or D is optional.
3. All existing buildings in Municipalities / Municipal Corporations shall construct rainwater harvesting the structure within a period of one year from the issue of this G.O.

We request GHMC, HMDA, MA&UD etc to re-think on the current policy of Water Harvesting Plan, review and modify the existing policy which suits the constraints of the public and the future requirements of the city taking into consideration, the depleting ground water levels in the Hyderabad city.
