hi guys...

as u all know I stay up castlebay flats with my son who’s 15 and my daughter  who’s 7. From October last year a have been sleeping on the couch to give them both there own rooms because Declan is far too old to be sharing with his little sister now. Every Tuesday and Friday I go on gha website to look for a house (3 bedroom) but nothing ever comes up to suit my needs. Gha keep telling me to bid but How can u bid for a house when there’s nothing there that’s suits my needs? They tell me everyone has the same fare chance of getting a house this way but few weeks ago there was an empty 3 bedroom house in Cathy street which was never advertised on they’re bidding site so I phoned and asked why ? The answer a got made me so mad ... gha told me that the property wouldn’t be advertised because it goes straight to the homeless, which I totally understand the homeless need a house as well but how is that fare ?  So how did I not get the same fare chance to bid for that house ? So obviously they’re bidding system is not fare is it ?  Why can’t they not give someone who has stayed in the flats over crowded for years that 3 bedroom house and give the homeless person a flat? Cause I’m sure they’d be happy with a roof over there head no matter what.  So to me the system is all wrong and with talking to other people it looks like everyone thinks the same as me so a think it’s time we all came together and done something bout it or at least try.

I would love to see gha be fare and change their priorities and give more weight to existing reliable tenants, so that newer property’s are existing for the local people first.

The conditions that we are living in as well is terrible with dampness etc but I feel very strongly about the bidding system first before I can go on about all the rest  thanks guys x
