Donnie's Law

Donnie's Law
Our dad, Donnie, was a Marine Corps veteran, disciple of God, amazing brother, father, and son. Our dad spent his final days spreading the word of God through hip hop and helping others as a sponsor for all types of addictions. My dad's death was a shock to everyone. He was in recovery for years.
Our dad died on March 31 2022 in the back of an Uber car in Detroit. The Uber driver drove him to pick up drugs and then drove him home before realizing that my dad had been sitting in the back of his car for almost 20 minutes. My dad died the minute he sat down in the car....
If the Uber driver knew signs of opaite use, opiate overdoeses, the use of Narcan, and had Narcan on him/her, and knew CPR, our dad would still be alive today.
Narcan reverses the effect of opiates. Similar to when someone is having an allergic reaction and is in need of an EpiPen.
If we mandate a new law to have all businesses, Uber, Lyft, and taxi vehicles take a course on signs of drug uses and how to administer Narcan and to have Narcan on hand, we can save many lives and help people get help for addiction.
If this new law can't get passed, we can loose many loved ones to opiate overdoses. Pushing this law, again, will save so many lives and help push awareness for opiate addiction.
