On February 24th Russia invaded Ukraine. Unprovoked and without just cause. The world has come together to support Ukraine and to denounce the actions of Russia's military. We have sent aid in multiple forms, and we have leveled sanctions against Russia at an unprecedented level. The people of Ukraine have shown staunch resistance. They have surprised everyone, including Putin, with there determination and effectiveness.

With the success of the people of Ukraine against the Russian military, and the mounting effects of world wide sanctions, President Putin has not reversed course, but increased the brutality of his military tactics. The Russian military has fired upon civilians indiscriminately with multiple forms of munitions, and, on multiple occasions, during mutually agreed cease fires for the evacuation of civilians. They have bombarded with rocket fire and aircraft non-military targets. They have fired upon houses, apartments, hospitals, and even child care facilities with mounted heavy machine guns, tanks, and helicopters.

Russia's military has stalled out due to the hard fighting of Ukrainians, both military and every day citizenry. The majority of fighting, at this point, will be urban combat, where Ukraine will grab Russia by the belt! Putin knows it and due to anti tank weapons put into Ukrainian hands by outside nations, tanks and ground vehicles  will be of little use. The best tool of offense to advance Russias invasion will be air superiority and aerial bombardments. Ukraine has shown what its pilots can do! However it needs more planes to do it!  

Poland offered its entire fleet of Mig 29s to donate to Ukraine, free of charge! These are the very planes Ukraine has trained on and found success with, and so desperately needs to bring down Russia's fighter jets and eliminate rocket launching vehicles. The Biden administration has initially backed the plan, and worked to bring it into action, but just a short while ago decided the offer was "untenable". The Biden administration has said it is reluctant because it doesn't want to incite conflict to advance between the United States and Russia.

I don't want to incite a war with Russia either, but we have supplied Ukraine with multiple forms of arms and munitions. If we where going to stay out of this conflict, we have long since passed the last exit ramp for abstinence. We cannot enact a "no fly zone" over Ukraine without directly taking military action against Russian craft. I agree, this certainly would be an open act of war, and might cause president Putin to use nuclear options. However, getting Ukraine what it needs to defend itself, including those MiG 29's should be imperative to our cause: supporting Ukraine. 

All freedom loving people of the world should know that what is at stake is far greater than the continuation of the Ukrainian Government. It is not just analogous, but interwoven with the freedoms we all hold so dear. Sign this petition if you find the freedoms of the common people worth fighting for!
