Calipatria Unified' Dress code is found to be very directed towards girls, yes there is dress code for the boys at the school as well but girls have more struggle with it. We just want to go to school without be sexualized by these rules. They seem to care about the schools image more than the students. Why take away our class time for our shoulders being a "distraction"? Let's change the way that this dress code is set up. This dress code over sexualizes girls shoulders, breasts, butt, knees, and etc., yet for boys all they need to do is not sag, not wear provocative images on their shirts, and no muscle shirts. That there is NOT equality. They deny this over sexualization of females at their school but it is clearly there. This is promoting behavior that it's ok for boys to harass girls if they aren't covering up, that it's out faults when it's not. I'm in not anyway trying to disregard boys here, this is all the schools fault. They need to teach us that it's ok to have a different body, don't cover it up and, boys do not harass girls if they aren't dress modestly. This is a problem and we need to do something about it. Please get this petition out. Please sign, and get Calipatria Unified High Schools attention. On Tuesday (September 7th) please wear dress code so we can do a peaceful protest.
