The Rocket City Rocks Boxing program was started with the private funding of Coach Larry Bright, later significant additional funding support was also provided by Dr. Cantrell. The hope was that after we proved that the business model would works, the city of Huntsville would adopt the program. 18 years later, thousands of young lives impacted, multiple national champions, the #1 nationally and #3 internationally ranked middle weight who is the front runner for the 2024 Olympics, the program is struggling to survive. Despite the initial investment in remodeling the building, after 18 years it is in disrepair and unsafe. All that we are asking for is the city of Huntsville (#1 City in the nation) to step up, adopt this proven program and provide this wonderfully popular and successful  program adequate housing!'   We also have some ideas about starting a police activities league, such a program could provide support for many of Huntsville's existing nonprofit programs...this would provide funding, collaboration, and more structure for these programs, collaboration with Boys and Girls clubs and the Housing Authority...not to mention enhanced relationships between our youth and law enforcement!
