We are attempting to get the principal of Kewaunee High School, Michael Bennett, and the School Board, to resolve their past actions fully. Seeing as the current student body, feels as though these faults need to be acknowledged for a proper resolution. The following problems should be addressed, such as: often ignoring students questions and complaints on multiple occasions, ignorance of student hazing on and off campus, the abuse of the dress code and singling out female students because of it, unreasonably singling out students for far past actions, and not enforcing fair punishment for all students according to district policy. Another issue the student body has noted, is how students have been intimidated when attempting to leave school activities or groups. We are not looking to get Principal Bennett to resign, we are trying to get him and the district to acknowledge these issues and work towards eliminating them. Hopefully after change takes effect, we will have a secure school, and a safe learning environment. If further action is not taken according to the district policy, we will take it to the superintendent, Scott Fritz, or if needed the Kewaunee School Board.
