At Germantown High school there are hundreds of kids who have detention, ISS, and OSS all over tardies. While some may just be showing up late between classes, a majority of these students are late to their 1st period class. The bell for school is at 7:15 and teachers were told to give us until 7:25 to get to class before counting us tardy, most teachers don’t do this and mark us tardy anyways. While you may blame the students, our school is in a traffic heavy area and we have very little ways around traffic if it does get backed up. We as students would like to get rid of first period tardies, or change the tardy policy so many students aren't being punished for something they don’t have control over.
