Abolish Uniform Skirt in Ulpana
This petition had 13 supporters
Ulpana has recently announced that they will be bringing in a uniform skirt for the 2017/2018 school year. Many students are upset with this new rule because they want to express themselves. Students cannot wear dresses, pencil skirts, or denim skirts to school anymore. In addition, the students had no voice in this insane decision, and many of them have voiced their opinions about feeling self conscious or exposed, and the faculty should have considered the opinions and interests of their students before they announced this rule. As well, these uniform skirts are going to be quite costly, ranging from 40 to 65 dollars per skirt. Multiply that by 5 skirts any Ulpana student would need, and the average family will be paying 325 dollars, which many people simply cannot afford. This new rule will also be the last straw for some students who love the atmosphere of Ulpana, but cannot deal with them becoming the new Tiferes Bais Yaakov, and they will not want to come back to this school next year. Because of this, Bnei Akiva Schools will lose a lot of money, and that will be bad for their business and the happiness of their students. All in all, Ulpana should abolish the uniform rule for a better school experience.
