Allentown Parking Authority should eliminate late fees. Instead, they should allow you to respond to the ticket (guilty/not guilty) within 15 days and have the option to pay it in full or arrange a reasonable payment plan if we cannot afford to pay our tickets in full by the time requested. 

By charging late fees, increasing the late fees every few days, and not allowing us to pay a portion of it without it increasing ultimately causes the people to build up a huge amount of debt to the city. That directly affects Allentown’s general poverty level. There’s no reason a $10 ticket should turn into $100. Taking the right away to operate our car directly affects how we get to the money the city want from us so bad! Beyond getting to the money to pay off debt to the city, we are left scrambled to find a way to work to feed our kids and keep a roof over our heads! It’s a system that fails the city, more than it brings in money for the city. A change is needed.
