Hello. My name is Chelsea. Here at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State university, a teacher by the name of Karen L. Hornsby who teaches a "logic" class, believes in overwhelming her students with an extremely large and difficult course load. She also has neglected her students and left majority feeling like we do not know what we are doing. Many of us feel neglected and that our teacher wants to see us fail. After one student shared with her his depressions after several family members passing away, she dismissed him and told him to simply go to student counseling instead of a small extension on an assignment. At the end of the day all of us students feel that this course load was too much and completely unfair. There are also students who dropped her class/withdrew even though they needed this class because it was extremely overwhelming. She gave us work as though we didn't have other classes to do work for. Most all the students in this class have D's and F's. Several students, including myself, suffered mental breakdowns, anxiety and depression at the hands of this course and this teacher because it was too much to bear. Please help us get the opportunity to report this teacher to the chair of this department and the opportunity to change our grades to what we deserve. No teacher should revel and bask in the joy of most of her class failing.
