In the 2020 NHL Draft, the Arizona Coyotes drafted a man by the name of Mitchell Miller, soon after being drafted it was leaked that during middle school, he harassed and severely bullied a black schoolmate, who also suffers with a learning disability, Isaiah Meyer-Crothers. After years of being released by the Coyotes, the Boston Bruins have decided to sign him to an entry level contract. There are many issues behind this. Miller has not apologized properly, only doing so when his harassment was brought to light. In court it was said he gave “no remorse” according to reports. In middle school Miller put a jolly rancher in the urinal then forced Isaiah to eat it, along with videos of Miller beating him, kicking and punching him. This was not just a one time occurrence- this was constant. Mitchell Miller has no purpose in the Boston Bruins organization or NHL. This will damage the image of the Bruins and ultimately ruin chances of other players wanting to sign and wear the B. Mitchell shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near a professional team due to his own actions.
