My best-friends 12 year old daughter took her life Tuesday after years of being bullied and battling depression. 

Sadly she fell through the cracks of a broken system being shuffled around from this waitlist to that temporary treatment option. There was no school counsellor available to help Grace deal with her daily struggles.

School counsellors have been reportedly taken out of the schools due to budget cuts despite suicide being the second leading cause of death amongst youth (Gladding and Alderson, 2012). 

According to Gladding and Alderson, 22% of youth struggle with mental health; depression being the leading diagnosis.
