A couple of years ago I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression, after having my first child i suffered with PND but never seeked help as I didn’t realise at the time that’s what it was I thought it was just overwhelming feelings from being a first time mum!

When I was pregnant with my second child my mood was really low, I was snappy, and didn’t like my life! I reached out for help and got weekly phone calls with a councillor, and I was put onto an antidepressant.

After a few weeks I could feel the change and felt so much better, but eventually things got worse and I had to have my dosage upped and this happened again a few months after, at this point I was on maternity leave so was getting my prescriptions for free! I was feeling brilliant and was beginning to like my life again with my 2 brilliant children.

Fast forward to now I am back at work full time as a carer, i have a child who is very demanding and possibly on the spectrum, and I feel like my life is worthless again, even though I know I have my children and my fiancé and my family around me I feel alone! I havnt taken my anti depressants for at least 2 months as I have ran out and I cannot afford the prescription for them!

With bills rising and wages not it’s making money worries a lot more stressful than they used to be! 

My petition is to try and get ALL mental health medication for free! How can someone get better or try and improve there mental health issues when they have to choose between getting there medication or buying your child a new pair of shoes because they have outgrown another pair!

Please help me to fight this cause that I feel so strongly about!
