With not having two cops on campus this year, we’ve seen the impact not only today (November 8th, 2021) but these past 3 months that it’s made on the amount of violence that is truly inside of Madison Easts hallways. The amount we’ve seen this year is unfathomable. The amount of blood I have seen this year is unacceptable. I cannot imagine what other students have seen as well. This violence does not only physically impact people, but mentally as well. The days, hours, and minutes that we have missed due to violence and threats mentally effects the students of Madison East. The time that other schools have had in the classroom while we stand outside watching people get into fist fights, hit with pipes, pistol-whipped, maced, restrained, and many other forms of violence used.  I know within my heart that there are well mannered, smart, and kind people in East’s hallways. The actions of some should not impact the other 2,000 students that attend Madison East.  We all take school for granted until we have to see violence 50 feet from the classrooms we learn in.
