Fern Springs Picnic Area
Constructed by Civilian Conservation Corp in 1930's. This park was eligible for National Registry of Historical Places. Closed over 10 years ago. This park holds history for many. All of the picnic shelters and Spring House are still standing. Many of the picnic tables under the shelters can still be used and need cleaned. Most of the rock walkways are still intact and have very little damage. Park consists of 3 picnic shelters, Spring house, Fire Pits, Benches, Rock Pathways, Paved Parking, Restrooms and Bear Proof Garbage Disposals.
This park requires no electrical service. It has outhouse style bathrooms. Lets restore this park to its former glory. Numerous volunteers have already agreed to maintain the grounds (grass, weeds, cleanup). This park is stilling there wasting away while many could be enjoying its beauty.
We the people request this park be re-opened!
