Currently in Georgia during the month of April according to Georgia law we celebrate Confederates month. As the Confederacy was a treasonous, pro-slavey nation, I wish to remove this observance from Georgia law. The law TITLE 1 - GENERAL PROVISIONS CHAPTER 4 - HOLIDAYS AND OBSERVANCES § 1-4-20 sets aside the month in order to celebrate, honor, and commemorate the Confederacy's soilders, leaders, and its history. This unjust holiday upsets me, my family, and several members of my community. I want to get the Georgia Assembly to repeal this unfortunate act. What the Confederacy stood for was wrong and should not be celebrated.
