The state of Georgia needs to set an example for other southern states by eliminating Columbus Day. This change should be made due to Christopher Columbus’ treatment of Native Americans. In place of this state holiday the state of Georgia’s political leadership should declare November 3rd of every year to be a state holiday. This would facilitate every eligible resident in the state of Georgia to vote at their registered polling location.
