Because those who are innocent should not be punished and should be given an equal opportunity to make this country stronger.

These children are soon to become important adult contributors in their home communities across America. As Vice President Joe Biden said, “Why in God's name would you want to take a kid with this talent and this capacity and deport her? It's against our national interest."

I know many of these children; I have worked with them, and I believe in them. They are innocent of any wrongdoing, and they deserve every opportunity to further their educations and contribute to the future of America with whatever gifts God has given them. They are our future doctors, scientists, educators, business leaders, parents, community and religious leaders. Why deprive our country of what they have to offer by denying them opportunities to develop and share their talents?

Children who immigrate here involuntarily should be allowed to go to college or join the military and should not be criminalized. Education IS the silver bullet...a rising tide floats all boats!!!

America was made strong over the last four centuries because of the dedication, commitment and hard work of children and adults who immigrated here. Please make sure we can continue to develop educated citizens who will keep us strong and make us even stronger.

Even if one is conservative regarding illegal immigrants, deporting eleven million persons is unrealistic. Why not provide a realistic path to citizenship for the best of these? Young, talented, patriotic....they will join the workforce, pay taxes, become good citizens, pay into the Social Security fund. They will benefit the USA. It would be a "win" for the country and for these hard-working, desirable persons.

If these students have succeeded in the American school system already, they deserve the chance for college. The result is that they will become better and more productive members of our society and hopefully citizens.
