SUPPORT SCHOOL CHOICE BY SUPPORTING HR1162 AND HELP SAVE OUR SCHOOL!
Ivy Prep Academy is the only all girls public charter school in the state of Georgia. Although the school has consistently delivered an innovative, top-notch, college preparatory education to its scholars since opening in 2008, the school has been unfairly targeted by the Gwinnett County Board of Education. The school has been locked in a legal battle with the Gwinnett BOE over funding, and was at the center of a lawsuit that now threatens the survival of charter schools throughout the state. HR1162 is a proposed constitutional amendment that will authorize the state to authorize and equitably fund charter schools when local school boards, without valid reason, deny a school a charter and funding.
We need your help to SAVE OUR SCHOOL. If HR1162 doesn’t pass, Ivy Prep will only receive $2800 a year in state funding per scholar, and may possibly have to close its doors. The average Gwinnett student receives close to $8000 in funding per student. We are only asking that we be allowed the freedom to choose the best education option for our children and that it be fully funded with our tax dollars.
