Introduce legislation mandating sepsis protocols in all hospitals in Georgia.

I nearly lost my life to sepsis in April 2012 but I was blessed to be saved. It is now my passion to save as many lives as possible.

Most death from sepsis are preventable, caused by lack of public awareness of the condition and poor hospital processes which lead to fatal delays in diagnosis and treatment. But sepsis is a solvable crisis. Hospital systems that have introduced sepsis protocols into emergency departments and wards have drastically reduced sepsis mortality and readmission rates as well as healthcare costs.

I firmly believe that every state should have these mandatory sepsis protocols implemented and, I ask you to support their adoption in Georgia.

Sepsis shatters families and burdens our economy. Legislative action is not necessary to institute these commonsense regulations – executive action and leadership are what is required. I ask you to help put an end to thousands of preventable deaths and life-altering disabilities (such as amputations, cognitive impairment and PTSD to name a few, from sepsis by supporting the introduction of legislation to mandate sepsis protocols in GA.
