Domi Hannon started this petition to George Mason University

Instead of enacting a pass/fail option, we believe GMU should instead pass all current students based on their current grades. This would allow the student body to have letter grades that reflect their work up to this point in the semester without undue risk towards their GPA's. Furthermore it would free up email services and other university services in order to better respond to the current events going on in the world.

Students are currently dealing with a myriad of issues at this time, including difficulties with learning online, learning disabilities, along with low speed internet, which leads to difficulties with distance learning. Students are not able to see their professors consistently and with any technology program comes issues and risks that the program will not work all the time. Additionally, students and their families are dealing with financial hardships and many students are dealing with a loss of income or have to pick up more hours or another job to support their family.

We recognize the efforts made by the university in providing housing and financial aid, and we believe this is the next best step. George Mason needs to address the academic fears and struggles their student body is facing and do what is best for them.
