David Bone started this petition to County Executive Monroe County Executive Adam J. Bello

George Eastman, inventor, entrepreneur and philanthropist, lived in Rochester most of his life from 1860 to 1932.  He was the founder of Eastman Kodak which eventually grew to become Rochester's largest employer.  His company provided good jobs to hundreds of thousands of Rochester residents for over a hundred years.  During his lifetime, he donated $100 million to the community.   He founded the Eastman Dental Dispensary to provide free dental services to needy Rochesterians.  He founded the Eastman School of Music and donated millions to the University of Rochester.

He is known across the globe for his selfless efforts to help the poor and the needy and to enable them to reach higher goals.  His generous gifts 100 years ago continue to pay dividends today.  His influence touched every member of our community.

I support renaming Rochester’s gateway George Eastman International Airport, an act which I believe will honor one of our country’s greatest citizens and deliver a message of hope to the world.

No one in the history of Rochester, NY is more deserving of the honor of having their name on Rochester's airport than George Eastman

"A good reputation is measured by how much you can improve the lives of others."
