If you live on a dirt road, or if you drive on a dirt road regularly. Than surely you could agree,  that our backroads,  are poorly maintained. They are not graded often enough in the dry season,  and they are graded too often, during the wet season. 

Recently,  the road commission had graded my road, at such a poor time,  that it made it nearly impossible to drive down certain areas of the road,  due to extremely muddy conditions. Often times, the road is actually worse off, than before the grading took place. Creating a public safety hazard, along with wasting precious tax dollars as well. 

We are asking the Genesee County Road Commission,  to come up with a new procedure,  for how they create grading schedules for our backroads. The current schedule is predetermined,  and flawed at best. We are paying workers to drive the graders at times they aren't needed, as well as fuel and maintenance costs,  in a somewhat reckless manner. This is a complete waste of tax dollars, when looked at, on a county wide basis. Why not take the money wasted grading in late November,  and use it when it is much more necessary in the dry months?
