Ken Muir to apologise to Scotland’s teachers

Ken Muir, the chief executive of the General Teaching Council Scotland, has made public comments claiming that the teacher retention crisis in Scotland is partly due to the millennial generation and their attitude. He compares the current issue of teachers leaving the profession with ‘youngsters’ playing video games and ‘pressing the reset button’ when things don’t work out for them. This viewpoint is both unfounded and patronising to the teachers of Scotland.

This is a call for Mr Muir to apologise publicly for his comments and retract his statement.
