The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has issued a notice to the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) regarding its new training manual on inclusion of transgender children in schools.

The main cause of contention were the manual’s recommendation to use gender-neutral toilets and remove gender binaries in school infrastructure and processes. 

We highly support the training manual of  NCERT. As mostly the discrimination happens to transgender persons in their school levels.Bullying of transgender persons is a widely prevalent phenomenon across the country. It goes even extream towards sexual molestation. In result few Transgender students took suicide and many dropped out from schools. Lack of awareness about gender transgender identity has led not only students but also teachers to be engaged in bullying and harassment.

If we introduce this gender variant issue immediately from school level, it might create the equal respect to transgender students and can prevent the unwanted loss of our transgender community people.  

I request all of you to sign the petition and protest against the regressive notice of NCPCR.
