Install a stoplight at the intersection of Old Swimming Pool Rd and HWY 129 Bypass

We would like the city to request a stoplight at the intersection of Old Swimming Pool Rd. and the HWY 129 Bypass. Many new homes have been constructed in Mallards Landing, Mallards Cove, The Woodlands, and River Mist with up to 100 more to be built soon in phase two of River Mist. Traffic has also increased on the HWY 129 Bypass (Jefferson/Damon Gauss Bypass). The main issue is safety. The intersection is extremely dangerous when so many people get stuck in the median. School buses get caught there each morning with cars and trucks flying by the front and rear bumpers of the buses. This is also where students and fans turn to get to the Jefferson Dragons Football stadium, swimming pool, and the city park. Building a stoplight here would also likely attract commercial development to the three undeveloped corners increasing the tax base. A connector road to the Dairy Queen up the hill to be able to use the proposed new light on Old Swimming Pool Rd would make their exit safer, too. Please consider this important safety request. Thank you!
