Megan Elizabeth Goetz started this petition to GCSU Student Body

Despite myself and many other GCSU students posting on social media about how terrible and disrespectful it is to use glitter/confetti for Graduation pictures and asking our peers to not do the same, to maybe use an alternative such as flower petals or en eco-friendly confetti such as whole-punched leaves -
students KEEP G{littering}!

We should be showing GCSU, this town/land, this Earth, our gratitude for allowing us to have the experiences we have had at GCSU and in Milledgeville. Instead, through celebrating people seem to be forgetting, or rather disregarding, how inconsiderate it is to use glitter.

It's not only very hard to pick up, especially if you use it on the Front Campus lawn (rather than on concrete, where you can sweep after yourself), but it's disrespectful to the campus, the land, this town, this Earth (as microplastics are so dangerous to our oceans and many organisms!) - and to your GCSU peers! We want y'all to stop.

Please stop.

Glitter is litter. If you have a problem with the idea of littering, you should have a problem with the idea of glittering.

With this petition, I hope to send this to the executives of our campus, President Dorman or whoever, to ban the use of glitter for Graduation pics for the years to come. I have been here for 5 years, and it was never this bad until this year. Let's put a stop to it for next year [and the remainder of this year, if we get enough signatures in time].
