GCSRT 2022 Workshop 3
GCSRT 2022 Workshop 3
This is a petition to request either:
- A Live In-Person option for the Workshop 3 (GCSRT 2022 cohort)
or
- A reduction in tuition fees to compensate for the complete program being converted to an online course
The GCSRT class of 2021-2022 feels violated by the immediate decision made by the Director & staff of having a virtual workshop #3. This decision being made 8 months in advanced seems premature and we are unable to comprehend the justification as the COVID-19 situation is continuously improving (with presence of multiple events/conferences in 2022 planned at Harvard).
Although we respect the need to follow Public Health recommendation for the pandemic, we also feel that it is currently too early to make our final workshop as a virtual event.
If the management is unable to accommodate and plan the final workshop event, we ask to reconsider the tuition fees instilled at the start of the program as we feel it does not reflect the true cost of an entirely online virtual course.
As a renowned university, we are confident that you will ensure that this course benefits the many students coming from around the world. We hope that you can find a solution to this that gives us the opportunity to truly gain the most that we can from GCSRT.
We hope you can reconsider the decision (or to the very least delay this decision until we are closer to June 2022 or look into the possibility of a virtual/live combined option) and help work towards this one opportunity to attend live seminars and network with our colleagues.
Thank you,
GCSRT 2021-2022
