Any council working toward truth and reconciliation for indigenous people requires those appointed to actually understand--and practice--those concepts. Pechanga chairman Mark Macarro has actively worked against truth and reconciliation for his own people for close to two decades, disenrolling over 400 legitimate Pechanga citizens for his own political and financial purposes. The fact that he sits as a member of this council is truly a travesty, and an egregious injustice in itself. He should be removed immediately.
