Problem
Currently, people in California are not able to buy homes because of high house prices. There are people struggling all over the state because these houses are costing more than what the people get paid. Soon, even renting a house will be too expensive because the numbers will get absurdly high.

Solution
We need to get Congress's attention and people with power like Gavin Newsom, the governor of California.

We can also help by supporting the Department of Housing and organizations that fight for affordable housing.

Personal story
My name is Kevin Rai, and I am a junior at Fremont High School.
I have been aware of this problem for most of my life since I have lived in the Bay Area for 15 years. As the years have gone by, I have noticed an increase in house prices and more people without homes or living with rent.

My English class is having us do an activism project and my project is to get people aware of the rising house costs and take action to lower it for everyone.
